Family Cookbooks

Consistency is an essential element of any cookbook. When editing a cookbook, I will:

  • Edit all recipes for completeness and accuracy.

  • Ensure all recipes are cohesive and consistent with one another, including measurements and terminology.

  • Format your recipes according to your preference or style guide.

  • Edit recipe instructions, header notes, footnotes, and non-recipe sections for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style.

  • Assist in identifying terms for an index.

Per word rates starting at 3.5¢ USD / 3.2¢ EUR.

Cookbook Editing

I will edit your recipe, including title, ingredient list, method, header and/or footer notes, and any accompanying text for:

  • Grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

  • Consistency in measurements, ingredients, and format.

  • Clarity of instructions.

And to ensure that:

  • All ingredients listed are included in the recipe, and vice versa.

  • The title of the recipe is appropriate to the dish.

  • The header and/or footer notes are relevant and/or helpful.

  • Any accompanying text communicates something compelling about the recipe or a key ingredient.

Recipe testing is only available as an add-on service to family cookbook editing, cookbook editing, or recipe editing.

$100 / €95 per recipe, plus the cost of ingredients.
